Undergraduate Internships at the Cleveland Museum of Art
The Cleveland Museum of Art welcomes those with an interest in learning more about its stellar collections and the various departments that contribrute to its seamless functions. Unpaid interns are placed in a variety of departments that may potentially include curatorial, education, collections management, conservation, library, human resources, marketing/ external affairs, and performing arts and film. In return, interns receive orientation and a variety of experiences that give broad insight into how museums work, as well opportunities to interact with fellow interns. Internships are structured so that applicants may receive credit from their local colleges or universities. Interns are placed in fall, spring, and summer terms. Generally, a commitment of 160 hours during the term is required with a statement of purpose submitted to an academic advisor at the beginning of the term. Mentors from the CMA staff can provide interns with any necessary evaluation to comply with the granting college or university’s terms for independent study credit.
